整合計算模擬與實驗,用系統生物學的角度來了解細胞能量的供應與需求。研究方法以發展計算模型為基礎,開發定量分析方法,並由直接的實驗測量來驗證,透過緊密的理論與實驗的配合,了解細胞正常和病變的能量狀態與調節。在未來該模型可提供細胞器官模型及藥物設計的基礎,並可被用於優化治療的設計,以達到最大的保護作用。
The objective of my research is to apply recent advances in systemic and quantitative methods to examine the functional roles of mitochondria inside the cells and develop computational models of mitochondrial dynamics and energetics. The goal is to elucidate the roles of mitochondrial regulations in energy supply and demand matching, integrated cell function, and the progression of the disease. The model may ultimately be used to optimize the design of therapeutic agents in order to maximize protective effects.
