I-Chun Cheng's research interests are mainly in metal oxide semiconductor thin-film technology, photoelectrochemical solar cells and flexible large-area electronics. Her work includes: p-channel oxide thin-film transistors (TFTs) and oxide-TFT-based complementary metal oxide semiconductor (CMOS) technology, flexible transparent p-n heterojunction diodes for UV detection, flexible dye-sensitized solar cells, flexible thin-film encapsulation technology, thin-film mechanics and stress control of the film-on-foil system, device physics in flexible electronics, particularly in the interdependence of electrical and mechanical properties.
